Good afternoon, and welcome to 102.7 the Troop, now broadcasting between 275 and 285 in the medium wave, and planning for broader bandwidth soon. Today, we have decided to take a different path. Today, we'll have testimonials, about how people have survived the apocalypse, and are willing to share their story. Today, we have 19 year old John Whitmoor, who has survived since the start of the apocalypse. Welcome John. Please share your story with us.
Well, my story isn't very long. Really, I just survived through smarts, strength, and my grandpa's Garand. I remember the day the apocalypse came to me, clear as unmuddied water. It was a Friday, last uniform day of the year, last time we would be allowed to wear our Summer Blue uniform. It was third block, and I was reading a pretty good book, when the principal comes on over the intercom, saying that we've been ordered to evacuate immediately. Leave our stuff, just follow the teachers to a safe place. So we got up, and followed, and went outside. What met us there scared a lot of people.
Basically, it was every zombie apocalypse rolled into one, virtually everybody went crazy. Most of them tried to beat up the zombies with anything they had with them or could find. Most of them got turned into zombies themselves. I was a little more sensible. I took my car and drove home, intent on only getting a few things. Food, water, and my grandfather's M1 Garand. With these three things, I started heading toward Fort Riley. Of course, by the time I got there, it was run over by the zombies, so I had to move on. I tried other places, of course, but this has been the only safe place. Finding out that there are still Marines being trained here, I plan on signing up, actually right after this interview, and becoming a Marine.
Well, thank you John, and good luck with your training, we're glad you were able to make it. Weather for this week is scheduled to be mostly cloudy, with a high chance of rain. Activity around old LA has risen, so you are advised to stay away. In one month, what's left of the U.S. military plans on trying to take more territory, and asks that everybody donate any extra supplies for the war effort. New rifles, based off whatever can be scrapped from the area, are being developed, are are planned to replace the M-16 by the time of the offensive. Remember, we're coming to help you, just hold out a little longer. This is 102.7 the Troop, signing off. Good night, and may you live to see tomorrow.
